Irma Skruibienė

I am a psychologist and psychotherapist. I graduated from Vilnius University with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and from C.G. Jung's Analytical Psychotherapy training programme.

I am a member of the Lithuanian Psychological Association, a candidate member of the Lithuanian Association for Analytical Psychology, a certified European Psychologist, and I have completed my studies in psychotherapy in accordance with the qualification requirements for a European Psychotherapist. I regularly supervise my psychotherapeutic practice with experienced Jungian psychoanalysts.

I defended my Master's thesis in Trauma Psychology on the topic "Posttraumatic Growth of Survivors of Political Repression". My family history is also linked to political repression. The stories I have heard many times about my grandparents' exile to Siberia, the warm people they met there who helped them to settle down, the home they lost in Lithuania and never managed to fully recover, have led me to delve deeper into the psychological experience of home, wherever it may be. I am the creator of the blog "Home Therapy" and co-author of the book "Psychology of Home".

People contact me about all kinds of issues. I have experience of working with LGBT* people, as well as with people who have come to me because of difficulties in relationships, lack of self-confidence, and difficulties in understanding and expressing feelings. I have worked with people in crisis situations, traumatic experiences, abuse, bereavement, divorce, suicidal thoughts.

What I like about C.G. Jung's analytical psychology is that it gives importance not only to the individual experience of the person, but also to the influence of family history, culture and the experience of humanity as a whole in the life of each person. C. G. Jung's psychology allows us to look for resources not only in the immediate environment, but also in the entire human heritage, which is revealed through dreams, fairy tales, myths and symbols.
